The Derek Jarman exhibition Black Paintings and Waiting for Waiting for Godot is shown at Wilkinson, London, UK from 15th October to 22th December 2013.

It is an exhibition of Derek Jarman’s paintings and constructions which are gathered from 1982 to 1991, pre and post dates Jarman’s diagnosis of HIV. The work is made from celestial gold ground and is clotted with black pitch and he added smashed glass, mirrors, bulbs, jewels and brushes to canvas. Mostly what Jarman found on the beach around his garden house in Dungeness, Kent, UK.
